“There are no stupid questions, only stupid people.” -my former gymnastics coach

I was somehow reminded of this quote today and couldn’t help but laugh to myself. While it may come off as slightly offensive, I am coming to realize that it is quite true. Asking questions may feel embarrassing at times, but I think overall it helps lead to greater outcomes. They say that curiosity killed the cat, but I don’t really agree with this. Curious people ask questions, all sorts of questions. And the more you wonder and the more you know, the more you will get out of life. I think it’s more beneficial to ask a question before doing something you are unsure about than taking a guess and making a mistake. And although we definitely learn from mistakes, which also can be beneficial, we shouldn’t be afraid to ask questions.

I know this is something I will have to remind myself on an hourly basis. I guess it’s all part of growing up.
